The Arc de Triomphe is far more than a famous photo stop. It is one of the most meaningful monuments in Paris. With a private guide, you can understand the deeper story behind this landmark instead of simply seeing it from the outside.
Your guide will explain why the Arc de Triomphe was built, what it represents, and how it became such an important symbol of France. You will also learn about the sculptures, battle engravings, names of generals, and historical details that decorate the monument.

Bring French History to Life
The Arc de Triomphe is a masterpiece of Napoleonic architecture and one of the most important historic monuments in Paris. Commissioned by Napoleon after his military victories, the arch was designed to honor the French army and celebrate national glory.
During your Arc de Triomphe Private Tour, your guide will bring this history to life with clear and engaging explanations. You will discover the dramatic background of Napoleon’s ambitions, the long construction of the monument, and the meaning behind its powerful artistic decoration.
From heroic reliefs to engraved names of battles and generals, every detail has a story. One of the most famous sculptures is La Marseillaise by François Rude, a dramatic masterpiece that symbolizes courage, movement, and patriotic energy. With your guide’s explanations, the monument becomes much more than stone. It becomes a living history book.
Visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
One of the most emotional parts of the Arc de Triomphe Private Tour is the visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Located beneath the arch, this memorial honors the soldiers who gave their lives for France.
Here, you will see the Eternal Flame, which has burned continuously since 1923. Your guide will explain the meaning of this important memorial and its role in French remembrance ceremonies. This part of the visit adds a powerful and respectful dimension to the tour.
Many visitors come to the Arc de Triomphe for the rooftop views, but the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is often the moment that stays with them most deeply. It reminds visitors that the monument is not only about victory, but also about sacrifice, memory, and national unity.
Climb to One of the Best Rooftop Views in Paris
After discovering the history and symbolism of the monument, your Arc de Triomphe Private Tour continues to the rooftop terrace. From here, you can enjoy one of the most spectacular panoramic views in Paris.
The rooftop of the Arc de Triomphe offers a 360° view over the French capital. You can admire the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées, La Défense, Sacré-Cœur, the Seine, and the elegant Haussmann-style rooftops of Paris.
The view is especially impressive because twelve grand avenues meet around the monument like the spokes of a wheel. From above, you can truly understand the beauty and symmetry of Paris. This is one of the best places in the city for photos and unforgettable memories.

The Arc de Triomphe is a very impressive monument with incredible views of Paris in every direction. Very highly recommended!
It was just amazing. The views from the top left us spellbound. It was clear day and we could see the whole city with all the streets all just meets no at the arc.
Great interesting tour. We took the tour based on reviews and the guide Benito was fantastic. The information made the difference.
My wife and I finally made it to Paris. We choosed to get to the top of the Arc de Triomphe instead of the Eiffel Tower, and it was everything we hoped for and more. With the priority tickets, we skipped the line and had more time to soak in the moment together. The climb up the spiral staircase was fun (and a little breathless!), but once we reached the top, it was absolutely worth it. The panoramic view of Paris, especially the Eiffel Tower, was something we’ll never forget.
It was a fun experience. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The view from the top is second to none. I used the elevator and the people were so nice and understanding.
Amazing beautiful place to visit. Highly recommended. Queues go down quickly, even during busy periods.
